Intellectual, cognitive disabilities and autism

To improve comfort and well-being for visitors with intellectual or cognitive disabilities, or visitors with autism spectrum conditions, the museum provides sensory bags, available on request at reception.
These bags, designed with the reception team, are not intended for educational purposes. They are designed to provide reassurance, promote calm and support visitors’ emotional and sensory comfort throughout their visit.
Each bag may contain:
- a pair of glasses
- a magnifying glass
- sand timers
- an anti-stress ball
- noise-cancelling headphones
- a weighted blanket
- a fidget toy
To borrow a sensory bag, visitors will be asked to leave an identity document (identity card, driving licence, etc.) at reception. It will be returned at the end of the visit when the bag is handed back.
Visual impairment
Tactile displays are available on the lower level of the permanent collections, on the patio level.
